Lunch Webinar – Hydrogen economy from an investment point of view

Event Description

Why Hydrogen?

The investment thesis and opportunity are built on three strong points 1/ Energy independence, 2/ Decarbonization of economies and 3/ Re-establishing a domestic industrial footprint.

Why now?

This ambition requires unprecedented cooperation from states, industrial players, and research centres. Increasing the use of hydrogen to replace fossil fuels and for storing energy would make it possible to reach the goals outlined in the Paris Agreement, the EU’s climate-neutral strategy for 2050 and the UK climate change act. At present, hydrogen accounts for about 2.5% of global final energy consumption. If we are to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, it is estimated that hydrogen will need to represent between 20% and 25% of our total energy mix. While the opportunity is clear, the challenge for all actors of the transition is now to create a new ecosystem to harness the power of hydrogen.
